System purpose

This desktop pairs a 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D with 128GB of DDR5 and an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. The combination targets creators who need strong multi-threaded compute for modelling, video editing and AI workloads, while still delivering high frame rates for gaming. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Motherboard connectivity limits

The PRIME X870-P board provides two USB4 ports at 40Gbps, one USB 10Gbps port, three USB 5Gbps ports and four USB 2.0 ports at the rear. Internal headers add one USB 10Gbps Type-C connector, one USB 5Gbps header and two USB 2.0 headers. Four M.2 slots and two SATA 6Gb/s ports handle storage expansion.

Memory and storage headroom

Four DIMM slots hold the supplied 128GB DDR5 kit and support up to 192GB total, leaving room for future upgrades. The 1TB Samsung 990 PRO delivers sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s over PCIe 4.0x4. Three additional M.2 slots and two 3.5-inch bays remain available for extra drives.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 128GB DDR5 configuration or upgrade to the maximum 192GB?

The system ships with 128GB DDR5 across four slots; the motherboard supports up to 192GB, so you can add more later if workloads demand it.

What does the 5.70GHz boost clock on the Ryzen 9 9950X3D mean for actual gaming and rendering?

The 16-core CPU can reach 5.70GHz on light threads while the 128MB L3 cache keeps frame rates high in games and accelerates cache-heavy rendering tasks.

How fast is the Samsung 990 PRO over its PCIe 4.0x4 link in daily use?

The drive is rated for 7450MB/s reads and 6900MB/s writes, so large project loads and game level streaming hit near those peaks.
