Workstation Core and Cooling

This new business desktop centres on a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X running at 4.2 GHz with a 5.3 GHz boost and 128 MB L3 cache. A 360 mm liquid cooler handles the thermal load inside a Corsair 5000D Frame tower finished in black.

Motherboard and Power Checks

Verify that the sTR5 socket and TRX50 chipset match any planned expansion cards or storage devices. The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU uses a 140 mm fan and provides over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection.

Suited Buyers and Limits

Suits professionals who need 128 GB DDR5 ECC memory, a 2 TB NVMe boot drive and 10 TB SATA storage alongside an RTX 5070 12 GB GPU for AI-ready workloads. Buyers who require more than 128 GB RAM or additional GPU slots should look at a different platform.

Questions about this item

Does the Corsair 5000D Frame case include any pre-installed fans or do I need to buy them separately?

The case ships with two 120 mm fans already fitted, one at the front and one at the rear, so no extra fans are required for basic airflow.

Should I pick the 128 GB DDR5 ECC kit or a smaller capacity for my workload?

The 128 GB DDR5 ECC configuration is the only memory option listed; choose it if your applications need large capacity with error correction.

What does the Threadripper 9960X boost up to 5.3 GHz mean for actual render times?

The 24-core processor can reach 5.3 GHz on lightly threaded tasks while sustaining high clocks across all 48 threads for heavy multi-threaded rendering.
