Built for heavy compute

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 24-core Threadripper 9960X with 256GB DDR5 ECC memory and an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GPU. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit ships pre-installed. The platform targets professionals who need sustained multi-thread throughput and GPU acceleration in a single workstation.

Storage interface limits

Dual 4TB NVMe drives run on PCIe 4.0x4, delivering up to 7450 MB/sec read and 6900 MB/sec write. The 10TB HDD connects via SATA 6Gb/s. Four M.2 slots and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports are available on the motherboard for further expansion.

CPU core count decides fit

The 24-core 48-thread processor runs at 4.2GHz base with up to 5.3GHz boost and 128MB L3 cache. Buyers who need more cores or threads must choose a different Threadripper model.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256GB DDR5 ECC kit or a smaller capacity for this Threadripper 9960X workstation?

The 256GB DDR5 ECC configuration fills all eight channels of the sTR5 platform, giving maximum bandwidth for 24-core workloads; a smaller kit would leave channels empty and reduce throughput.

What does the 4.2GHz base clock on the 24-core Threadripper 9960X mean for sustained compile or render jobs?

All 24 cores hold 4.2GHz continuously under the 360mm liquid cooler, with single-core boost up to 5.3GHz for burst tasks, so long multi-threaded runs stay at base speed without throttling.

How fast are the two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives over the PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard?

Each drive delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, and the motherboard provides four x4 M.2 connectors so both SSDs run at full PCIe 4.0 speed simultaneously.
