24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X with 64GB DDR5 ECC memory and a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold supply. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-thread throughput for rendering, simulation or large-dataset workloads in a Windows 11 Pro environment.

Thermals and Acoustics

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO cooler handles the CPU while a 140mm PSU fan and single 120mm front and rear case fans move air through the Corsair 5000D Frame chassis. The Gold-rated power supply uses Japanese main capacitors and includes over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection for stable delivery under load.

Upgrade Context

The system replaces older workstations that lack DDR5 ECC capacity, PCIe 4.0 NVMe speeds of 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, or 10GbE networking via the Marvell AQC113C controller. Buyers who need more than 64GB memory, multiple GPU slots or a smaller footprint should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360 mm liquid cooler in the Corsair 5000D Frame case?

Mount the radiator at the front or top using the included brackets, then attach the pump block to the sTR5 socket with the pre-applied thermal paste; the step most people miss is orienting the pump outlet upward so air cannot collect in the cold plate.

Which components will need replacement first during the workstation's life?

The 10 TB SATA hard drive with 256 MB cache and the 120 mm case fans are the mechanical parts most likely to wear out; the AIO pump is sealed and not user-serviceable.

What thermal limit appears first when the 24-core Threadripper 9960X runs at full load for long periods?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO can dissipate the CPU's heat up to its 5.3 GHz boost, so the coolant temperature stabilises before the processor hits its thermal ceiling.
