24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This business desktop centres on a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X processor running at 4.2 GHz with a 5.3 GHz boost and 128 MB L3 cache. It targets professionals who need heavy multi-threaded compute for rendering, simulation or large-scale data workloads in a ready-to-run Windows 11 Pro tower.

360 mm Liquid Cooler and 1600W Titanium PSU

A 360 mm quiet-edition AIO handles CPU thermals while the case adds front and rear 120 mm fans for airflow. The Seasonic Prime TX-1600 80+ Titanium unit delivers 1600 W with a 140 mm low-noise fan and Japanese main capacitors, providing overhead for the 96 GB RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPU and full system load.

TRX50 Motherboard with 10 GbE and USB4

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D board supplies rear USB4 Type-C ports, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 connections, plus a Marvell AQtion 10 GbE LAN port. Storage uses a 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD and a 10 TB SATA HDD with 256 MB cache. The Corsair 5000D Frame case offers tempered glass, internal 3.5 and 2.5 inch bays, and front-panel USB 3.1 Type-C.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler mounted on the sTR5 socket, and what step do people miss?

The AIO bracket attaches to the TRX50 AERO D motherboard backplate; the step often missed is tightening the four captive screws in a cross pattern so the cold plate seats evenly on the 24-core Threadripper 9960X.

Which component will need replacement first — the 10 TB SATA HDD or the 4 TB NVMe SSD — and why?

The 10 TB hard drive with its 256 MB cache and moving platters typically reaches end of life before the solid-state Samsung 990 PRO, which has no mechanical parts.

What thermal or power limit appears first when the Threadripper 9960X runs at 5.3 GHz boost across all 24 cores?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO reaches its heat-dissipation ceiling before the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 80+ Titanium PSU hits its 1600 W rating, so coolant temperature becomes the limiting factor.
