32-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9970X processor with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell GPU with 48GB VRAM. It targets professionals who need high multi-thread throughput and large GPU memory for simulation, rendering or AI workloads. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe and SATA 6Gb/s storage limits

The two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives connect through PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, delivering sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. The 10TB hard drive uses a SATA 6Gb/s interface, so its sustained transfer rate is bounded by that bus rather than the faster NVMe pathway.

Upgrade from smaller-memory

Builders moving from configurations with less than 256GB RAM or from air-cooled 32-core setups gain both ECC capacity headroom and the 360mm liquid cooler's thermal margin. The jump is worthwhile when workloads exceed 128GB memory or when sustained all-core clocks near 5.4 GHz are required.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256GB DDR5 ECC memory or a smaller kit for this Threadripper 9970X workstation?

The 256GB DDR5 ECC kit fills all eight channels of the sTR5 platform, giving the 32-core Threadripper 9970X full memory bandwidth for large simulations and AI workloads.

What does the 4.0GHz base clock with a 5.4GHz boost mean for daily rendering on the Threadripper 9970X?

The 4.0GHz base keeps all 32 cores stable under sustained loads, while the 5.4GHz boost accelerates single-threaded tasks like scene setup and viewport interaction.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 link affect the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs in this system?

Each 4TB Samsung 990 PRO runs at PCIe 4.0 x4, delivering up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes for fast project loading and scratch space.
