Threadripper 9970X Workstation Build

This system centres on a 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9970X processor running at 4.0 GHz with a 5.4 GHz boost and 128 MB L3 cache. It targets professionals who need high thread counts for rendering, simulation or large dataset workloads. The platform uses the sTR5 socket on a TRX50 AERO D motherboard and ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit.

Liquid Cooling And 1200W Power

A 360 mm AIO quiet edition liquid cooler handles CPU thermals while a Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W 80 PLUS Gold unit supplies power with Japanese capacitors and a 140 mm low-noise fan. The Corsair 5000D Frame case provides front and rear 120 mm fans, two internal 3.5-inch bays and four 2.5-inch bays for additional drives.

Storage Speed And GPU Outputs

A Samsung 990 PRO 4 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0x4 drive delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write alongside a 10 TB SATA HDD with 256 MB cache. The Nvidia RTX A400 4 GB GPU offers four MiniDisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. Audio uses Realtek ALC4080 and ALC897 codecs for 7.1-channel sound.

Questions about this item

At what speed does the 32-core Threadripper 9970X hit its ceiling during sustained all-core workloads?

The CPU runs at a 4.0 GHz base clock and can boost up to 5.4 GHz, with 128 MB of L3 cache to sustain throughput across all 32 cores and 64 threads.

How loud and hot does the 360 mm liquid cooler get when the system runs continuously?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO uses a 140 mm fan designed for low noise, while the 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU also runs an ultra-quiet 140 mm fan to keep temperatures and acoustics controlled.

Which display connectors must my monitors already have to use the RTX A400?

The RTX A400 provides four Mini DisplayPort outputs, so each monitor needs a Mini DisplayPort input or a compatible adapter.
