Threadripper 9970X workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 32-core Threadripper 9970X with 64GB DDR5 ECC memory and a professional RTX 2000 Blackwell GPU. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets studios or labs that need certified drivers and error-correcting RAM for sustained workloads.

Suited for ECC-dependent pipelines

The 64GB DDR5 ECC capacity fits single-socket simulation, rendering or inference tasks that require memory integrity. Buyers who need more than 64GB of ECC memory or who rely on multi-GPU scaling should look at dual-socket or higher-capacity platforms instead.

1TB NVMe plus 10TB HDD headroom

The Samsung 990 PRO delivers up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes for active project files, while the 10TB SATA drive with 256MB cache stores bulk assets. When active datasets exceed the 1TB NVMe, the workflow shifts to the slower mechanical tier.

Questions about this item

What motherboard socket must the system have to support the Threadripper 9970X processor?

The workstation uses the sTR5 socket on the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard, which is required for the Threadripper 9970X CPU.

Can the 10TB SATA hard drive remain in use when the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD is installed as the boot drive?

Yes, the motherboard provides four M.2 connectors and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, so both the 1TB NVMe SSD and the 10TB SATA drive can operate simultaneously.

How can I confirm the liquid cooler is keeping the 32-core CPU within thermal limits after assembly?

Monitor the Threadripper 9970X temperature in Windows 11 Pro; the 360mm AIO cooler is designed to handle the processor up to its 5.4GHz boost clock.
