64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It targets professionals who run heavily threaded simulations, rendering or virtualisation workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and is marked AI Ready.

PCIe 4.0 Storage Limits

The two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives connect through PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, capping sequential reads at 7450 MB/sec and writes at 6900 MB/sec. The 10TB hard drive uses a SATA 6Gb/s interface. Builders who need more storage or faster NVMe lanes cannot expand beyond the board’s four M.2 connectors.

360mm AIO and MiniDisplayPort GPU

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO handles the Threadripper’s heat inside a Corsair 5000D Frame case with front and rear 120mm fans. The Nvidia RTX A400 adds four MiniDisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. The 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU uses a 140mm fan and Japanese capacitors. Buyers who need more GPU power or full-size DisplayPort connectors must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the single 8 TB NVMe drive or the two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO modules that make it up?

The 8 TB total is delivered as two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 modules running PCIe 4.0 x4, so the capacity is already split across two drives.

What does the Threadripper 9980X 3.2 GHz base clock mean for sustained workloads once the liquid cooler is fitted?

With the 360 mm AIO the 64-core processor can boost up to 5.4 GHz while staying within thermal limits for long render or compile jobs.

How fast can the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs actually move data through the PCIe 4.0 x4 link on the TRX50 AERO D board?

Each drive is rated for sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s over the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.
