Threadripper 9980X 64-Core Workstation

This business desktop pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X processor with 256GB DDR5 ECC memory and a liquid-cooled thermal solution. The system targets professional workloads such as simulation, rendering and large-scale data analysis. It ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit pre-installed.

PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe and SATA 6Gb/s limits

The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD connects through a PCIe 4.0x4 interface, delivering read speeds up to 7450 MB/sec and write speeds up to 6900 MB/sec. The 10TB hard drive uses a SATA 6Gb/s connection with a 256MB cache. Both interfaces cap maximum throughput for their respective drive types.

RTX 4500 Blackwell 32GB GPU

The Nvidia RTX 4500 Blackwell graphics card provides 32GB of video memory for GPU-accelerated compute and visualisation tasks. Buyers who need more video memory for larger models or multi-GPU scaling should consider a different configuration.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2TB NVMe SSD or the 10TB HDD for my primary workload?

Use the 2TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO for the operating system and active projects; its PCIe 4.0 x4 interface delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. Keep the 10TB SATA 6Gb/s HDD with 256 MB cache for bulk archives and backups.

What does the 64-core Threadripper 9980X at 3.2 GHz actually deliver in a workstation?

The CPU provides 64 cores and 128 threads with a 256 MB L3 cache and boost clocks up to 5.4 GHz, giving strong multi-threaded throughput for rendering, simulation and AI workloads while the 360 mm liquid cooler keeps thermals in check.

Which interface does the RTX 4500 Blackwell 32 GB use and what does it cap in practice?

The GPU connects via the motherboard PCIe lanes; its 32 GB frame buffer and Blackwell architecture set the practical limit for model size and texture resolution in professional 3D and AI tasks.
