64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This business desktop centres on a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X processor with 128 threads and a 5.4 GHz maximum boost clock. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded throughput for rendering, simulation or large dataset analysis.

360mm Liquid Cooling and 1200W PSU

A 360 mm quiet-edition AIO cooler handles the CPU thermal load while a Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W 80 PLUS Gold unit with a 140 mm low-noise fan delivers protected power. The Corsair 5000D FRAME case adds front and rear 120 mm fans for steady airflow.

TRX50 Platform with ECC Memory

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides four M.2 slots, eight SATA 6Gb/s ports and extensive USB 3.2 and USB4 connectivity. 64 GB of DDR5 ECC memory is installed; the 2 TB NVMe boot drive and 10 TB SATA HDD occupy the available 2.5 and 3.5 inch bays.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler mounted on the sTR5 socket, and what step do builders often miss?

The cooler attaches to the Threadripper 9980X via the sTR5 mounting bracket; the step often missed is removing the protective film from the cold-plate before seating it.

Which component will likely need replacement first under heavy workloads?

The 140 mm PSU fan on the 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold unit typically wears out before the 360 mm AIO pump or the 120 mm case fans.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained all-core loads?

The 360 mm liquid cooler reaches its heat-dissipation ceiling before the Threadripper 9980X hits its 5.4 GHz boost ceiling.
