Workstation for heavy compute

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X with 64GB DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX A400 GPU. It targets engineers, researchers and studios that need sustained multi-threaded throughput and certified driver stability. The 1200W Gold-rated supply and 360mm AIO keep the platform running at up to 5.4 GHz boost clocks under load.

Storage capacity and headroom

Two 4TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver 8TB of PCIe 4.0 capacity with sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. A 10TB SATA HDD with 256MB cache adds bulk archive space. The motherboard provides four M.2 slots and eight SATA ports, so additional drives can be fitted when the current array fills.

Build, connectors and daily use

The Corsair 5000D Frame case offers tempered glass panels, front 120mm and rear 120mm fans, plus front-panel USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-C and audio. Rear I/O includes two USB4 Type-C, four USB 3.2 Gen 2, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 and 10GbE LAN. The RTX A400 supplies four Mini DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups, while 7.1-channel audio uses Realtek ALC4080 and ALC897 codecs.

Questions about this item

Will my existing SATA 6Gb/s hard drives and 2.5-inch SSDs fit inside the Corsair 5000D case alongside the 10TB HDD?

Yes. The case provides two internal 3.5-inch bays and four 2.5-inch bays, so additional SATA drives can be installed alongside the supplied 10TB drive.

How can I verify the liquid cooler is running correctly after the first boot?

Check that the 360mm radiator fans spin, feel warm liquid in the tubes after load, and confirm CPU temperatures stay well below the 5.4 GHz boost ceiling in monitoring software.

Which display cables are included for the RTX A400 and what must I source myself?

The card has four Mini DisplayPort outputs; cables or adapters for Mini DisplayPort to your monitors are not included and must be purchased separately.
