Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller

This new Adaptec 2940 is a PCI SCSI controller designed for server and workstation environments. It connects SCSI storage or tape devices to a system using a standard PCI expansion slot. The card targets administrators maintaining legacy infrastructure or adding SCSI capability to compatible hardware.

Suits legacy SCSI deployments

It suits administrators adding SCSI storage or tape devices to a system that still offers PCI connectivity. Builders who need a different bus interface or a modern storage protocol should look at other controller types.

PCI interface determines fit

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the PCI interface. The host system must provide a matching PCI slot for the controller to function.
