This AddOn GLC-GE-100FX-AO transceiver plugs into a Gigabit Ethernet SFP slot on Cisco Catalyst 3750, 3560 and 2970 series switches. It provides a 100 Mbps 100Base-FX link over multi-mode fiber. The module is hot-swappable and factory loaded with configuration data so it initialises identically to the OEM part.

LC Duplex Connector and Multi-Mode Support

The LC duplex interface accepts both 62.5/125 µm and 50/125 µm multi-mode fiber, giving flexibility when patching into existing plant. Because the transceiver is compliant across the product line, it can be mixed with other OEM or third-party modules without configuration changes.

2 km Reach at 1310 nm

The 1310 nm wavelength delivers a 2 km range on multi-mode fiber, suitable for building-to-building or campus links within that distance. The 100 Mbps half- or full-duplex rate caps throughput at Fast Ethernet speeds, so it will not serve gigabit or longer-haul single-mode requirements.
