A 1-Gigabit SFP transceiver for 850 nm multi-mode fiber up to 550 m with an LC connector, Cisco GLC-SX-MM compatible
The AddOn GLC-SX-MM-AO is a Cisco-compatible SFP transceiver built for 1-Gigabit Ethernet links over multi-mode fibre. It suits network engineers who need a drop-in replacement for the Cisco GLC-SX-MM part number in enterprise switches or routers.
The module uses the industry-standard SFP form factor with an LC duplex connector for multi-mode fibre patch cables. Because it is factory-loaded with Cisco-specific configuration data, it initialises identically to the OEM transceiver and can be mixed with other vendor modules without extra configuration steps.
The transceiver operates at an 850 nm wavelength and reaches 550 metres on multi-mode fibre at 1000 Mbps. Buyers who need longer reach or single-mode fibre support should select a different module.

The transceiver reaches 550 m over multi-mode fiber at 850 nm wavelength.
It uses an LC duplex connector and the standard SFP form factor.
Insert the SFP module into the switch port until it clicks, then attach the LC fiber cables; the step often missed is removing the dust caps from both the module and the cables before connecting.
