This passive copper cable connects two QSFP28 ports at 100 Gbit/s over a 0.5 m reach. It is programmed and serialized for Cisco Meraki QSFP-100G-CU5M compatibility and tested for data traffic. The assembly is TAA compliant and built to MSA standards.

Passive copper limits reach to half a metre

Passive copper does not amplify the signal, so the link is restricted to 0.5 m (1.6 ft). Longer runs require active optical cables or transceivers with fibre. The 100 Gbit/s rate is fixed by the QSFP28 interface and cannot be negotiated down to lower speeds.
