Purpose and audience

The Adesso AKB-232UB is a full-size USB keyboard with 120 keys built from flexible, waterproof silicone. Antimicrobial treatment on the surface makes it suitable for shared or clinical environments where hygiene matters. Its foldable design allows easy transport for mobile workers or technicians who move between workstations.

Build integration

A single USB Type-A cable provides both power and data, so no separate adapter or driver installation is required on supported Windows versions. The flexible body rolls up to free desk space when not in use and withstands liquid spills that would disable a conventional rigid keyboard. Six feet of cord length gives enough reach for most tower or laptop placements.

Upgrade context

This model replaces standard membrane keyboards that lack spill resistance or antimicrobial protection. The jump is worthwhile when the environment demands regular cleaning with liquids or when a compact, roll-up form factor simplifies storage in a kit bag. Buyers who need mechanical key feel, per-key RGB lighting, or wireless connectivity will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How does the flexible silicone surface hold up when the keyboard is rolled and unrolled daily?

The antimicrobial silicone membrane is designed to withstand repeated folding without cracking, and the USB cable is rated for standard desktop use.

Does the keyboard run warm or draw noticeable power after being left plugged in all day?

It draws power only from the USB port, produces no measurable heat, and operates silently with no fans or active cooling.

What operating system must the computer already run for the hotkeys and LEDs to work without extra drivers?

Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista or XP — the keyboard is recognised automatically on those systems.
