2.4 GHz Wireless Ergonomic Trackball Keyboard

The Adesso WKB-3500UB is a full-size desktop keyboard with an integrated optical trackball and split-key contour design. It connects via a small 2.4 GHz receiver offering up to 30 feet of range across 12 channels with 65,536 IDs. The layout includes 20 Windows multimedia hotkeys for quick access to common functions. It suits office users seeking a combined typing and pointing device that reduces forearm twisting.

Membrane Switches and Power Management

Membrane key switches are rated for a 5 million keystroke lifecycle, delivering a quiet typing feel suited to shared workspaces. An auto-sleep function works with a manual power switch to extend battery life up to six months under typical use. The wireless link operates on the 2.4 GHz band rather than Bluetooth, so latency remains consistent without pairing overhead. No backlighting or programmable macro layers are present on this model.

Plug-and-Play Installation

The receiver plugs into a USB-A port and requires no driver installation on standard Windows systems, making setup immediate for most desktops and laptops. The fixed split layout and integrated palm rest demand a wider desk area than a straight keyboard, which can be a constraint on compact surfaces. Trackball sensitivity is not adjustable via hardware, so users accustomed to high-DPI mice may find cursor speed limiting. Buyers needing per-key RGB lighting, mechanical switches, or Bluetooth multi-device pairing should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How much power does the Adesso WKB-3500UB draw and will it run hot if I leave it on all day?

The keyboard uses an auto-sleep function and a manual power switch to extend battery life up to six months, so it draws very little power and produces no noticeable heat during continuous use.

What must I already have for the WKB-3500UB to work out of the box?

You need an available USB port for the small 2.4 GHz wireless receiver and two AAA batteries, which are not included.

Will the WKB-3500UB work alongside my older PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse without conflicts?

Yes, the 2.4 GHz receiver operates on 12 channels each with 65,536 IDs, so it coexists with legacy PS/2 or USB input devices without interference.
