Shaft Grounding Ring for 1.375 in Shafts

The Aegis Shaft Grounding Ring fits 1.375 in shafts on NEMA 213T and 215T motor frames. Its split aluminium ring bolts through the frame and uses conductive epoxy to create a low-impedance path for VFD-induced shaft currents. The transparent finish shows the contact surface clearly during inspection.

For VFD-protected NEMA 213T and 215T motors

Maintenance teams fitting this ring on compatible frames can divert harmful bearing currents and extend motor life. Operations running different shaft diameters, other frame sizes or non-NEMA mounting patterns will need a different grounding solution.

Bolt-through mounting with conductive epoxy

The split ring slides over the shaft and fastens through existing bolt holes, so no shaft disassembly is required. The epoxy layer must cure fully before the motor returns to service; insufficient cure time is the most common cause of a high-resistance path that fails to protect the bearings.

Questions about this item

What motor frames must I already have for the 1.375 in shaft grounding ring to fit?

The ring is compatible with NEMA motor frames 213T and 215T.

Will the split-ring design clear the existing bolts on my 213T or 215T motor?

The bolt-through mount and split construction allow installation without removing the shaft or disturbing the original fasteners.

How can I confirm the ring is diverting VFD currents after I bolt it on?

Measure shaft-to-ground voltage with a high-frequency probe; a drop to near zero indicates the conductive epoxy path is working.
