Case-friendly dual USB-C extender
The Afterplug APCCADPT01-SB adds two downstream Thunderbolt ports to a single upstream connection on MacBook Pro 2016+ and MacBook Air 2018+ models. Its slim 1.1 x 0.24 x 0.88 inch blue aluminium body sits flush against the chassis so protective cases do not need removal. Up to 127 devices can be addressed through the hub.
Passive thermals and bus power
No fan or external supply is required; the extender draws all power from the host port and runs silently. The aluminium shell dissipates the small amount of heat generated during normal data and charging sessions. LEDs indicate fast-charging status on the downstream ports.
Sustained 80 GB/s throughput
The Thunderbolt link maintains full 80 gigabytes per second bandwidth during long transfers or continuous video output without throttling. Two peripherals can operate simultaneously at native MacBook speeds for data, video and charging. The MacBook Neo’s mixed USB 3 and USB 2 ports limit performance to each port’s own specification.

Questions about this item
How do I install the extender on a MacBook Pro 2016 or Air 2018 without removing the protective case?
Slide the single upstream USB-C connector into the MacBook port; the case-friendly design clears the shell so no removal is needed.
What maintenance or replacement will the aluminium extender need after repeated plugging and unplugging?
The solid aluminium body acts as a sacrificial buffer, so the MacBook's own ports stay unworn; no user-serviceable parts exist inside.
Which limit appears first when I run two Thunderbolt devices at full 80 GB/s throughput for long sessions?
The host MacBook's port specification — USB 3 on one side, USB 2 on the other — caps sustained speed before the extender does.
