Retro Metal Chess Set 15.1 inch

The Agirlgle Retro Metal Chess Set is a 15.1 inch folding board with 32 zinc alloy pieces finished in bronze and silver. It is designed for adults and children who want a durable, travel-ready set that stores every piece inside the board. The fixed compartment moulding keeps each of the 16 white and 16 black pieces secure during transport.

Suits collectors and families needing portable

Players who want a compact set that fits in a backpack will appreciate the folding board and individual piece slots. Buyers who need a larger tournament surface or lightweight plastic pieces for rapid club play should look at something else. The metal construction adds weight that may not suit every travel bag.

Behaviour under sustained use

The zinc alloy pieces resist wear from repeated handling and keep their finish across many games. The folding board hinge and moulded compartments remain functional after frequent opening and closing. No electronic components or moving mechanisms are present that could degrade under long sessions.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.1 inch folding board arrive with the 32 zinc-alloy pieces already inside, or must I supply my own?

The set includes 32 pieces — 16 bronze and 16 silver — each seated in its own moulded compartment within the folding board, so nothing extra is required.

Will the bronze and silver metal pieces feel too heavy or slippery on a vintage wooden board I already own?

The zinc-alloy pieces have a solid, weighted feel and a smooth retro finish that glides cleanly on wood without scratching, while the board’s own surface offers a similar tactile experience.

How can I confirm the folding board locks flat and every piece sits secure before my first game?

Unfold the board until the hinge clicks flat, then verify each of the 32 pieces rests firmly in its individual moulded slot with no rattling when the board is gently tilted.
