Purpose and User

The AGM Rattler V2 TS19-256 is a thermal imaging rifle scope built for hunters and airsoft players who need reliable heat-signature detection in low light. It combines a 19mm Germanium lens with a 256x192 resolution sensor to deliver clear thermal images on a high-resolution OLED display. The package includes a mount, USB cable, lens cloth, manual and two rechargeable batteries.

Capacity and Headroom

The 12-micron sensor operates at 50 Hz for smooth imaging and detects targets out to 950 yards. Base magnification is 2.5x with digital zoom steps up to 20x, while the field of view spans 9.3° × 6.9° (49 feet at 100 yards). Two proprietary batteries provide up to 11.5 hours of continuous use per charge. On-board video recording activates automatically with sound when a shot is fired.

Practical Limits

Digital zoom beyond the optical 2.5x base crops the 256x192 pixel array, reducing detail at the highest 20x setting. The fixed 19mm lens sets the field of view and detection envelope; users needing wider coverage or longer range must choose a different optic. The proprietary battery system requires the supplied cells and charger, so spares cannot be sourced off the shelf.

Questions about this item

Will the 19mm Germanium lens and 2.5x base magnification let me keep my existing scope rings?

The scope body is upgraded but ring compatibility depends on the tube diameter of your current rings; check that measurement against the new housing before mounting.

How can I confirm the 256x192 sensor and 50Hz refresh rate are performing correctly after zeroing?

View a uniform warm surface through the OLED display; the image should refresh smoothly at 50Hz with no visible tearing, and the 256x192 pixel grid will render fine thermal contrast at the 9.3° × 6.9° field of view.

Does the box include the two rechargeable batteries and mount needed for the 11.5-hour runtime, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the thermal scope, mount, USB cable, lens cloth, manual and two proprietary rechargeable batteries, so the stated 11.5-hour runtime is achievable without extra purchases.
