Eco-friendly kitchen sponge kit

The AIRNEX Sponge001 kit contains a single biodegradable sponge made from plant-based cellulose and recycled fibers with an abrasive coconut scrubber side. It is designed for household cleaning tasks such as washing dishes, scrubbing non-stick cookware and wiping countertops, showers or tubs. The materials are non-toxic and compostable, reducing waste compared to synthetic alternatives.

Practical limits of plant-based materials

The cellulose and coconut fibers dry quickly to resist odour, but they will degrade faster than plastic-based sponges under heavy daily use. The abrasive surface is safe for non-stick coatings, glass and stainless steel, yet it is not intended for harsh industrial chemicals or surfaces that require a dedicated scouring pad. Wood surfaces listed in the recommendations should be cleaned gently to avoid wear.

Replaces disposable synthetic sponges

This product replaces conventional petroleum-based kitchen sponges that cannot be composted. The jump is worthwhile for households that want a low-waste option and are comfortable replacing the sponge more frequently. It is not suited for buyers who need a long-life heavy-duty scrubber or a multi-pack for high-volume cleaning.

Questions about this item

Should I buy the 1-count pack or look for a multi-count option for my kitchen?

The listing shows a single-count package containing one sponge; if you need more than one at a time you would need to order multiple units.

How does the 0.11 kg weight affect daily handling?

At 0.11 kilograms the sponge feels very light in hand, making it easy to manoeuvre around cookware and surfaces without wrist fatigue.

What does the "Abrasive" feature mean for non-stick pans?

The coconut-fiber scrubber side provides gentle abrasion that removes stuck-on food while the cellulose side protects non-stick coatings from scratches.
