Compact Apple Find My tracker

The Airwheel Mini GPS Tracker uses the Apple Find My network to report its location without a subscription or monthly fee. It pairs with iOS devices running version 14.6 or later and relies on nearby Apple hardware to update its position. The white plastic housing measures 1.18 by 1.77 by .2 inches and weighs .032 kilograms. A built-in magnet allows quick attachment to metal surfaces on vehicles or equipment.

Magnetic mount and battery life

The magnetic base lets the tracker snap onto a car chassis, bike frame or toolbox without brackets or wiring. Because it draws power from an internal cell rated for 12 months of use, there is no need to tap into a vehicle electrical system. Water-resistant construction helps it survive rain or splashes when mounted externally. The small footprint keeps it hidden in a pocket, bag or under a seat.

Network-dependent updates

Location refreshes depend on the density of passing iOS devices rather than a cellular modem, so updates are less frequent in rural areas. Vibration alerts and sound monitoring trigger notifications when the tracker moves unexpectedly. The Bluetooth link also supports a proximity alarm to help locate the device at short range. Buyers who need guaranteed real-time tracking or Android compatibility should look elsewhere.
