Pack Contents

This pack contains 12 mini compasses in nine colours, including four black units plus red, blue, light blue, purple, white, army green, fluorescent green and pink. The variety helps children identify their own compass quickly and makes the set useful for group activities such as scouting or school trips. Each compass weighs 0.05 kilograms and measures 5.12 by 0.98 inches with the lanyard included.

Attachment and Interference

Each compass comes with an umbrella rope for lanyard or keychain mounting, so it clips to a backpack, neck cord or wrist strap in seconds. The magnetic needle can be disturbed by nearby metal objects such as a mobile phone, metal watch, screws, nails or high-voltage wires; if the reading seems off, shake the compass a few times to settle the needle. Keep it clear of ferrous items for reliable direction finding.

Magnetic Compass Limits

As a magnetic instrument, this compass points to magnetic north rather than true north and does not compensate for local declination. Accuracy drops near large steel structures, vehicles or electrical equipment, so it is best suited for general orientation during hiking, camping or emergency kits rather than precise navigation. The plastic housing is lightweight but not waterproof, so protect it from immersion.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the magnetic needle is pointing accurately after I attach a compass to my keyring?

Hold the compass away from phones, watches, screws, nails or high-voltage wires, then give it a few shakes; the needle should settle quickly and indicate north.

What exactly comes in the pack and is anything else needed to start using them?

The pack contains 12 mini compasses in nine colours — four black plus red, blue, light blue, purple, white, army green, fluorescent green and pink — each with an attached umbrella rope for lanyard or keychain mounting; no extra parts are required.

Which colour assortment should I choose for a group of children on a camping trip?

The single pack already provides nine distinct colours with four black units, giving each child a unique, easy-to-spot compass without needing to select a different version.
