1RU 19" Rackmount Kit for Io Express

The AJA IOx-RM is a 1RU rackmount kit built for the Io Express portable A/V interface. It fits a standard 19-inch equipment rack and is intended for broadcast and post-production environments. The kit provides a secure mounting platform for professional video workflows.

Side-by-Side Mounting Capability

This rackmount kit allows up to two Io Express units to be installed side-by-side within a single rack unit. The design optimizes rack density and simplifies cable management. It streamlines the physical setup for multi-channel capture or playout configurations.

Space Optimisation for Dense Racks

The 1RU form factor conserves vertical rack space in crowded installations. It comfortably handles dual Io Express interfaces where a single unit would waste capacity. It runs out of utility when rack space is not constrained or when only a single portable interface needs occasional desktop use.

Questions about this item

What maintenance will the IOx-RM rackmount kit require over time?

The kit is a passive metal frame with no moving parts or electronics, so it needs no scheduled maintenance beyond occasional dusting and checking that the mounting screws remain tight.

What physical limit appears first when the kit is used continuously in a rack?

The 19-inch rack width and 1RU height define the space; you cannot add a third Io Express unit side-by-side once two are installed.

Does the rackmount kit generate any noise, heat or draw power during all-day operation?

No — it contains no fans, power supply or active components, so it adds zero noise, zero heat and consumes no electricity.
