Ergonomic Mesh Backrest for Seated Support

The Alera BR118 provides lumbar support for office chairs, car seats or home seating. Its contoured shape encourages spinal alignment while the breathable mesh fabric prevents heat build-up during long periods of sitting. Adjustable elastic straps hold the unit firmly against the seat back. Buyers needing a heated or massaging function should look elsewhere.

Breathable Fabric and Secure Fit

Stretched mesh material allows continuous airflow to keep the back cool in normal indoor or vehicle use. The elastic strap system anchors the backrest without tools or permanent modification to the chair. No power source is required, so there is no fan noise or electrical draw to consider. The lightweight frame adds minimal bulk to the existing seat.

Adjustable Straps for Versatile Placement

Two elastic straps with buckles let the user position the backrest at the preferred height for lumbar contact. This simple attachment works on a wide range of seat widths and styles without additional hardware. No software, apps or extra cushions are included in the package. The accessory changes only the physical support layer, not the seat structure itself.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the adjustable elastic straps to keep the backrest from shifting?

Wrap each strap around the chair back or car seat, pull tight, and fasten the hook-and-loop closure so the mesh panel sits centred on your lumbar curve.

What part of the Alera BR118 will wear out first and need replacing?

The elastic straps lose tension over time; when they no longer hold the 18 1/8" wide mesh panel firmly, replace the backrest.

How long can I sit against the mesh before heat builds up against my back?

The open mesh fabric circulates air continuously, so heat does not accumulate even during extended use at a desk or behind the wheel.
