Alera Wessex Task Chair for Office Use

The Alera Wessex ALEWX42BME17 is a black task chair designed for general office work. It supports users weighing up to 275lbs and offers a seat height range of 17.09 to 20.83 inches. Fixed arms are included but can be omitted during assembly. Tilt tension and lock adjustments allow personalized reclining resistance. This new chair suits home or corporate workspaces requiring basic ergonomic controls.

Upgrading From Basic Seating

This model replaces static stools or non-adjustable chairs that lack height or tilt customization. The jump is worthwhile when a user needs independent seat-height and tilt-tension settings for extended desk sessions. Buyers who require adjustable armrests, lumbar depth control, or a headrest will not find those features here. Assembly is required before first use.

Limits of the Standard Task-Chair Design

The fixed-arm configuration limits lateral support adjustment for broader or narrower shoulders. Tilt range is governed by a single tension knob and lock lever rather than a multi-position synchro mechanism. Seat-height travel of 17.09 to 20.83 inches may not suit very low or very high work surfaces. Weight capacity is rated at 275lbs, so heavier users should verify suitability.
