25-foot Yellow Extension Cord

This 25-foot yellow extension cord uses 16/3 SJTW-A round cable and includes a Pro-tec-tor resettable circuit breaker in the female end. It is rated for 13 amps and carries a UL listing. The cord is suited for general indoor and outdoor power needs where a built-in overload reset is preferred.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

The cord operates at its 13 A rating without a fan, so it produces no audible noise. Heat rises only in the conductors and the breaker housing under load, and the SJTW-A jacket is rated for the temperature range encountered in typical use. Power draw follows the connected equipment up to the 13 A limit.

Questions about this item

How do I install the CS-25A extension cord and what step do people get wrong?

Connect the male plug to a grounded outlet and the device to the female end with the resettable circuit breaker. The step often missed is pressing the reset button on the female tap before use if the breaker has tripped.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16/3 SJTW-A cord need later?

Inspect the yellow jacket and 16/3 conductors regularly for cuts, abrasion, or heat damage. Replace the entire 25-foot cord if the insulation is compromised or the 13A resettable breaker fails to hold after resetting.
