Practical limits of 50 m rating

The 50 metre water resistance suits hand washing, rain and surface swimming but is not rated for diving, snorkelling or high-pressure jets. Pressing buttons underwater can compromise the seal, so operate the stopwatch, alarm or backlight only when the watch is dry. Hot showers and rapid temperature changes may also reduce sealing performance over time.
