A compact media converter that extends networks over fibre at 1000Mbps with an SC connector and supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging
The Allied ATMMC200SC960 is a 1000Mbps SC switch module designed for network administrators who need to extend a copper link over single-mode fibre. Its compact mini media converter form factor saves rack or cabinet space while delivering full gigabit throughput.
The fibre port uses a fixed SC connector and the copper port uses RJ-45 with a maximum operating distance of 100 metres. The module handles IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagged frames, so extra-long packets pass through without being discarded by the converter.
At 1000Mbps the link comfortably handles typical office and backbone traffic loads, while the 100 metre copper reach covers standard horizontal cabling runs. The fixed SC interface means the module cannot be adapted to other fibre connector types or swapped for an SFP transceiver when the network design changes.

The ATMMC200SC960 is a 1000Mbps model, so select it when your copper link runs at gigabit speed; the 100Mbps models are separate SKUs.
It means the RJ-45 copper port negotiates up to 1000Mbps full-duplex with a 100-meter distance limit, while the SC fiber port runs at the same line rate.
