Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL IMW270 Portable Speaker

The Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL IMW270 is a compact portable speaker built for wireless audio on the move. It connects via Bluetooth to phones, tablets and laptops for cable-free playback. An IP67-rated chassis resists water, snow and dirt while a buoyant design keeps it afloat. The rechargeable battery provides up to 6 hours of playback per charge.

Who This Speaker Suits

This speaker suits listeners who want a rugged, waterproof companion for the pool, campsite or garden. The Just Ask feature activates Siri or Google Voice Assistant directly from the unit. True wireless pairing lets you link two compatible speakers for wider stereo sound. It is not for buyers who need all-day battery life beyond a single charge or those who require a wired auxiliary input for non-Bluetooth sources.

IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof Rating

The IP67 rating is the decisive specification for outdoor and wet-environment use. It certifies full dust protection and survival in water immersion, while the buoyant build prevents the speaker from sinking. This rating confirms the speaker can handle splashes, rain, snow and accidental drops into water without damage. If your primary need is indoor-only listening, a lower-rated model may suffice.
