The Altronix PT724A is a single-channel timer designed for annual scheduling in access-control and automation systems. It operates on 12 or 24 VDC or VAC, making it compatible with common low-voltage power supplies. The unit provides 365-day programming with 24-hour resolution and supports ten holiday exceptions. Installers and facility managers use it to automate door strikes, lighting or HVAC equipment on a yearly calendar.

DIN-rail mount with screw terminals

The timer mounts on a standard DIN rail and connects via screw terminals for power, relay output and programming input. Wiring follows the labelled terminal block; no special tools are required beyond a small screwdriver. A common issue is reversing the AC or DC polarity on the supply terminals, which prevents the unit from powering up. Another frequent oversight is forgetting to set the holiday dates after the main schedule, leaving the exceptions inactive.
