Two 12-inch cleats for heavy wall mounting

This pair of aluminium French cleats is supplied with matching screws, expansion tubes and a level tool so the wall bracket and the item bracket can be fixed quickly. The system suits gypsum board, wooden walls and other common surfaces without requiring specialised hardware.

Ideal for securing mirrors.

Installers who need a removable yet rigid hanging method will appreciate the uniform hole spacing and aluminium construction. The kit is not intended for loads above the stated capacity or for surfaces that cannot accept screw anchors such as hollow plaster without backing.

Rated at 80 lbs total load per pair

The maximum supported weight determines whether the cleat can hold a specific piece safely; exceeding this figure risks failure. Verify the item weight before relying on the hardware.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 12 inch length for my project?

The 12 inch cleat provides a long mounting surface that distributes weight across multiple screw points, making it suitable for heavier mirrors, shelves or cabinets up to the 80 lb rating.

What does the 80 lb capacity mean when mounted on drywall?

The 80 lb rating applies when the included expansion tubes and long screws are properly anchored into studs or solid blocking behind the drywall; hollow-wall anchors alone will reduce the safe working load.

How does the aluminum cleat interface with the wall and the object?

One cleat half fastens to the wall with the supplied screws and expansion tubes, the mating half attaches to the item, and the two halves interlock by gravity to hold the load securely.
