American Lock Anodized Aluminum Padlock Brown
This anodized aluminum padlock from American Lock is built for safety lockout procedures. The brown body measures 1 7/8 inches high by 1 1/2 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick. It features a 1/4 inch boron alloy shackle with 3 inches of vertical clearance and 13/16 inches horizontal clearance. The keyed-alike cylinder allows one key to open multiple locks in a set.
Keyed Alike Cylinder Simplifies Multi Lock
The keyed-alike configuration means every padlock in the group operates with a single standard key. This removes the need to carry or label separate keys for each lockout point. The non-removable key design ensures the key stays in the cylinder until the shackle is locked, reducing accidental unlocking. Corrosion resistant anodized coating protects the aluminum body in harsh environments.
Extended Shackle Fits Standard Hasp Openings
The extended shackle provides 3 inches of vertical reach to span wide hasps or chain links. Horizontal clearance of 13/16 inches accommodates standard lockout hasp slots. Boron alloy shackle material resists cutting and sawing attempts. Install by inserting the shackle through the isolation point and snapping the lock body shut; the key cannot be removed until the shackle is fully seated. Ensure the hasp hole diameter exceeds 1/4 inch for proper fit.

Questions about this item
Will the boron-alloy shackle need replacing if it gets bent?
The 1/4 in boron-alloy shackle is hardened for cut resistance; if it bends under extreme force the lock body usually stays intact, so only the shackle would need replacement.
What stops the anodized aluminum body from corroding during long outdoor use?
The anodized coating provides the stated corrosion resistance; prolonged exposure to salt or industrial chemicals can eventually break down that layer.
Does the lock heat up or make noise when left secured all day?
It has no moving parts that generate heat or sound, so the padlock stays at ambient temperature and remains silent during continuous use.
