What this scale is and who it suits

The American Weigh EB4074C is a digital bathroom scale with a 400 lb capacity and a 6 mm tempered glass platform. It displays weight on a large blue backlit LCD and offers readings in pounds or kilograms. The unit powers on automatically when stepped on and switches off after use. It is intended for adults who want a straightforward body-weight check at home.

What the included items change

Two AAA alkaline batteries are supplied so the scale works immediately. The platform measures 11.9 by 11.9 inches and sits on anti-skid pads that reduce slipping on wet floors. A low-battery indicator and an overload warning appear on the display to prevent inaccurate readings. No app, smart connectivity or body-composition analysis is provided.

Installation and common issues

Place the scale on a hard, level surface; carpet or uneven tiles cause unstable readings. Insert the batteries observing the polarity marked in the compartment. Step on only after the display shows zero. If the reading drifts, recalibrate by stepping off, waiting for the display to clear, then stepping on again. Avoid moving the scale between weigh-ins for consistent results.

Questions about this item

How often will I need to replace the two AAA alkaline batteries?

Battery life is rated at 1.8 watt-hours; with typical daily use the two AAA cells last several months before needing replacement.

What is the maximum weight the EB4074C can measure before the overload indicator appears?

The scale stops reading at 400 lb (180 kg / 28 st); exceeding this triggers the overload warning on the blue LCD.

Does the 6 mm tempered glass platform get warm or make noise during all-day use?

The scale has no motor or heater, so it stays silent and at room temperature even with continuous weighing sessions.
