Frame dimensions and purpose

The Americanflat WMW1218BLK1117 is a 12 by 18 inch poster frame with a black engineered wood finish. It displays 12 by 18 inch prints directly or 11 by 17 inch photos with the included mat. The Hudson Collection design suits home or office wall decoration.

Mat size and mounting checks

Verify that your artwork matches the 12 by 18 inch outer size or the 10.5 by 16.5 inch mat window before ordering. Ensure the wall can support the frame's weight and that you prefer either vertical or horizontal orientation. The shatter-resistant glass and backboard are included for immediate use.

Upgrade from basic frames

This frame replaces thin plastic or unframed poster displays with a 1.1 inch wide moulding and woodgrain finish. The jump is worth it when you want a gallery-style border that protects prints behind shatter-resistant glass. It is not for buyers needing deeper shadow-box depth or multiple apertures.

Questions about this item

Does the frame arrive with the 11x17 mat already installed, or do I need to buy the mat separately?

The 12x18 frame ships with the mat pre-installed; the mat window measures 10.5x16.5 inches and fits an 11x17 print.

Should I choose the 12x18 frame for an 11x17 print or for a full 12x18 poster?

Use the included mat for an 11x17 photo; remove the mat if you want to display a full 12x18 poster behind the shatter-resistant glass.

What does the 1.1 inch border width mean once the frame is on the wall?

The moulding adds a 1.1 inch wide frame face around the visible image, giving a gallery-style profile whether the mat is used or not.
