Ampco W-260M 26-piece Metric Socket Set

This Ampco W-260M set contains 22 standard 6-point metric sockets ranging from 10 mm to 32 mm. The sockets are made from aluminium bronze with a beryllium copper alloy plated finish for corrosion resistance. It is a new hand-drive socket set designed for non-sparking use in hazardous environments. The 26-piece kit comes organised in a compact case for portability.

Suited for professionals in oil, gas.

These tools are built for workers who need non-sparking hand sockets to reduce ignition risk in flammable atmospheres. The aluminium bronze construction resists corrosion in harsh industrial settings. Buyers who require insulated tools for electrical work should look elsewhere because these sockets are not insulated. Teams needing imperial or drive-size variety will need additional kits.

Non-sparking aluminium bronze construction

The defining specification is the HAWA aluminium bronze material with beryllium copper alloy plating that prevents spark generation during use. This metallurgy makes the set appropriate for maintenance in explosive atmospheres where standard steel tools are prohibited. The 6-point socket profile engages metric fasteners from 10 mm through 32 mm.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/2" drive sockets fit the ratchet and breaker bar I already own?

Yes, every socket in the set uses a standard 1/2" square drive, so they work with any 1/2" drive ratchet, breaker bar or torque wrench you currently have.

How can I verify the nonsparking property is still effective after I start using the sockets?

The Aluminum Bronze HAWA material is nonsparking throughout, not just a coating, so the property remains for the life of the tool; a simple visual check for heavy deformation or contamination is all that is needed.

Does the 26-piece set include the ratchet and extension bars, or must I buy them separately?

The set contains 22 metric sockets from 10 mm to 32 mm plus a ratchet handle, a sliding T-handle, a universal joint and two extension bars, giving you 26 pieces in total.
