AMT 1164 1/25 Scale Big Rig Trailer

This AMT 1164 kit builds a 1/25 scale Big Rig semi trailer aimed at adult modellers who enjoy detailed truck subjects. It offers a 2-in-1 design allowing construction as a 36 foot Highway Rig or a Compact City Van. The kit includes two bonus pallets and colourful "Big Rig" decals for a finished look.

Skill 3 Assembly with Detailed Components

Rated at Skill 3, this kit requires patience and modelling experience to assemble the tandem rear axle with full suspension and detailed air brake assembly. Builders must supply their own paint and cement to complete the white moulded parts and apply the Super "High-Miler" vinyl tires. The hinged rear doors and vehicle loading ramps add functional detail to the build.

Compatibility and Build Requirements

Note that the truck-tractor is not included, so this trailer must be paired with a separate 1/25 scale tractor unit for display. Alternate city version parts allow a single axle configuration, but the kit cannot be built as both versions simultaneously. Vintage style packaging may show shelf wear despite the new condition.

Questions about this item

Does the 1/25 scale kit generate any noise, heat or power draw once assembled?

No — it is a static plastic model kit with no motor, electronics or moving parts, so it produces no noise, heat or power consumption.

What additional items do I need to finish the AMT 1164 kit?

Paint and cement are required and not included; you must supply your own modelling paints and plastic glue.

Can I attach the finished trailer to an older 1/25 scale truck-tractor I already own?

Yes — the kit is designed as a dynamic companion for any 1/25 scale truck-tractor, and the fifth-wheel coupling matches the standard scale interface.
