CarPlay Retractable Cable

The ANDHOT USB A to USB C retractable cable measures three feet and supports CarPlay connections in vehicles equipped with a USB-A port. It is intended for drivers who want a tidy charging and data link for compatible smartphones without loose cables on the centre console. The coiled spring design retracts automatically when not in use.

Sustained Charging and Data Flow

The cable delivers up to 15 watts at 3 amps and 5 volts using the QC fast-charge protocol while maintaining USB 2.0 data rates of 480 megabits per second. Under continuous use the reinforced joints keep voltage and current stable so navigation, music streaming and phone mirroring remain responsive throughout long journeys.

Build Quality and Daily Use

White thermoplastic connectors and a coiled sheath resist tangling and knots during repeated extension and retraction. The male USB-A plug fits standard vehicle ports or wall chargers while the female USB-C socket accepts the device cable, allowing the same lead to serve both in-car CarPlay and desktop charging scenarios.

Questions about this item

Does the 3 ft retractable coil generate noticeable heat when used for all‑day CarPlay and charging?

The cable supports up to 15 W (3 A at 5 V) via USB 2.0, so typical CarPlay use stays well within normal temperature limits for a passive cord.

What charger or port must I already have to use this USB‑A to USB‑C cable?

You need a USB‑A port that can deliver at least 3 A at 5 V for full 15 W fast charging; any standard USB‑A socket will work for data at 480 Mbps.

Will the 480 Mbps data rate work reliably with an older car head unit that only has USB 2.0?

Yes — the cable is USB 2.0 rated at 480 Mbps, matching the spec of older head units, so CarPlay and file transfers remain stable.
