Quasar 50 Vector Gaming PC

The Andromeda Insights Quasar 50 Vector is a gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an RTX 5090 graphics card. It targets enthusiasts who want high frame rates at 4K resolution and headroom for AI workloads. The system ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory at 6000 MHz and a 2TB NVMe Gen 4.0 SSD. Windows 11 Home comes pre-installed.

Liquid Cooling and 1200W Power Supply

A liquid cooling loop handles the thermal load of the 8-core CPU and the flagship GPU under sustained gaming sessions. The 1200W Gold-rated power supply delivers stable current to both components without hitting its limits. ARGB fans inside the Lian Li Vector V100 case provide airflow for motherboard and memory zones while keeping acoustic levels low at typical loads.

Upgrade Path for Existing Builders

This configuration replaces an older desktop that cannot feed a modern 8-core processor with 96 MB of L3 cache or saturate a Gen 4.0 storage bus. The jump is worthwhile when your current platform limits memory to 32GB at lower speeds or lacks 2.5G Ethernet for fast local transfers. Builders who need more than 2TB of primary storage or a second GPU should plan a different chassis.

Questions about this item

How is the liquid cooling installed on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and what step is often missed?

The closed-loop liquid cooler comes pre-filled and mounted to the CPU block; the step people skip is connecting the pump header to the B650 motherboard so the pump runs at full speed.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1200W Gold PSU need later?

The 1200W Gold unit is sealed and not user-serviceable; if efficiency drops or fan noise rises after several years, the entire power supply must be replaced.

What limit appears first on the RTX 5090 during sustained 4K loads?

The GPU power ceiling of the RTX 5090 is reached before the 1200W PSU limit, so clock speeds throttle to stay within the card's own power budget.
