USB 3.0 Type A Extension

This 6.6ft cable extends the reach of any USB Type A connection between a host computer and a peripheral. It carries USB 3.0 signals at up to 5Gbps and supports charging currents up to 2A for connected devices. The male-to-female layout lets you plug existing cables or devices directly into the extender without adapters. Gold-plated contacts and multi-layer shielding preserve signal quality over the full length.

Desktop and living-room setups

The extra length suits desks where the PC sits under the table, media centres with gamepads or webcams placed across the room, and workstations that route cables through grommets or trays. Builders who need an internal header cable, a USB-C link, or a panel-mount connector should look at a different product because this is a straight Type A male-to-female cord only. Users who require a shorter run for portable use may also prefer a more compact option.

5Gbps transfer rate

The single specification that decides fit is the 5Gbps data rate defined by the USB 3.0 standard. If the peripheral or host port operates at USB 2.0 speeds the cable will still function but will not deliver the 10× bandwidth improvement. Matching both ends to USB 3.0 ensures the stated throughput for hard drives, cameras and other high-speed devices.
