17 Inch Open Frame Touch Monitor Accessory

This accessory is a 17 inch open frame touch monitor designed for integration into kiosks, industrial automation systems, point-of-sale terminals and retail self-service stations. Its slim narrow edge design and metal housing suit embedded installations where a compact interactive display is required. The capacitive panel supports up to 10 simultaneous touch points for multi-user interaction. No driver installation is needed for Windows 8 and 10 plug-and-play operation.

Optically bonded panel for sustained use

The optically bonded touch panel reduces internal reflection and improves perceived brightness during extended operating periods typical of industrial and commercial environments. This bonding also increases the viewing angle and provides resistance to dust particles, helping maintain image clarity and touch accuracy over long shifts. Energy efficient LED backlighting supports continuous operation without excessive heat buildup. The metal housing with integrated bracket ensures mechanical stability under constant vibration or public use.

Check mounting and connectivity before ordering

Verify that your enclosure or mounting surface accommodates the rear VESA pattern or the integrated bracket supplied with the unit. Confirm your host system provides HDMI or VGA video input plus a USB port for the touch interface; serial and DC-In connectors are also present. Windows 7, XP and 2000 are limited to single touch input, so ensure the operating system matches your multi-touch requirements. The open frame design requires a custom bezel or cabinet cut-out for proper installation.

Questions about this item

Does the 17 inch open frame touch monitor generate noticeable heat or fan noise when running continuously in a kiosk?

The unit uses an energy-efficient LED backlight and has no moving parts mentioned, so it runs silently with minimal heat output during all-day operation.

What cables and host ports must I already have to connect the 17 inch touch monitor for both video and touch?

You need a host with HDMI or VGA for video plus a USB-A port for the touch interface; the monitor also offers serial and DC-In connectors for power.

Will the 10-point capacitive touch panel work reliably with a Windows 7 POS terminal I plan to keep?

Windows 7 supports single-touch only on this panel, while multi-touch requires Windows 8 or 10; the optically bonded screen still provides accurate input under either OS.
