Halogen bulb for stage and studio use

The Antique Light Bulb Co. 54659 is a 500 watt halogen lamp that delivers 13000 lumens at a 3200K colour temperature. It is built for fixtures that require a G22 medium bipost base and a T6 envelope. The high colour rendering index of 100 makes it suitable for photography, video and stage lighting where accurate colour matters.

G22 bipost base and short 100 hour life

The G22 medium bipost connector locks the lamp securely into compatible sockets, preventing vibration loosening in moving-light rigs. Halogen operation at 500 watts produces intense output but limits the rated life to 100 hours, so plan for frequent replacements during long productions. The compact T6 shape fits tight fixture housings without modification.

Check voltage, base and fixture rating before

Confirm that your fixture runs on 120 volts and accepts a G22 medium bipost base, as the lamp will not seat in other socket types. Verify the fixture is rated for at least 500 watts to avoid overheating or socket damage. Ensure the operating environment can accommodate the heat output and the short 100 hour service interval.

How is the 54659 halogen lamp installed, and what step is often missed?

Insert the bipost pins into the G22 socket with the power off, then avoid touching the quartz envelope with bare fingers to prevent hot spots.
