Anvil 1-1/4" Black Forged Steel Coupling

SKU CH-F7VE-7K8XX

Connects two 1-1/4 in FNPT pipes with Class 3000 forged steel rated to 1500 psi at 150 °F

  • Rated for 1500 psi at 150 °F service pressure
  • Withstands 300 psi saturated steam at 550 °F
  • Operates from -20 °F to 550 °F temperature range
  • Built to ASME B16.11 and ASTM A106 standards
  • Female NPT threads per ASME B1.20.1 for secure seal

Black Forged Steel Coupling 1-1/4

The Anvil coupling joins two sections of pipe with female NPT threads. It is built for plumbing and industrial piping systems that require a strong, leak-resistant joint. The forged steel body meets ASME B16.11 and ASTM A106 standards for pressure service.

Class 3000 Pressure Rating

This fitting carries a Class 3000 designation with a maximum pressure of 1500 psi at 150 degrees F. That rating is the primary check for engineers specifying the joint. If the design pressure exceeds this value, a heavier class fitting must be selected.

Temperature Range -20 to 550 Degrees F

The coupling handles saturated steam up to 300 psi at 550 degrees F and operates continuously down to -20 degrees F. It covers most process steam, hot water and chilled water lines. It is not suited for cryogenic service or superheated steam beyond the listed limit.

Questions about this item

What does the 1500 psi rating mean once the coupling is installed in a steam line?

The coupling handles 1500 psi at 150 °F water and 300 psi at 550 °F saturated steam, per ASME B 16.11 and ASTM A106 limits.

How does the FNPT thread standard limit the connection in practice?

FNPT threads follow B 1.20.1 taper specs, so they seal with thread sealant and mate only with matching male NPT fittings.

What clearance does the 2 1/4 in outside diameter need to fit or mount?

The 2 1/4 in OD requires at least that much clear space around the pipe centreline for wrench access and insulation clearance.
