Anvil 1103 90° Street Elbow
The Anvil 1103 is a galvanised malleable iron street elbow designed for 1/2 inch NPT piping. It connects a female thread to a male thread at a 90 degree angle in Class 150 systems. Plumbers and maintenance engineers use it to change direction in water, air or gas lines rated for Schedule 40 pipe.
Galvanised coating and street pattern
The hot-dip galvanised finish protects the iron from corrosion in damp or outdoor installations. The street elbow layout places a male NPT end directly into a female fitting without adding a separate nipple. This reduces the number of joints and shortens the overall assembly length in tight runs.
Class 150 pressure headroom
Rated at 300 psi at 150 degrees F, the fitting handles typical residential and light commercial pressures with margin. It is built for Schedule 40 pipe, so it matches standard wall thickness in 1/2 inch lines. Installations exceeding the Class 150 pressure or temperature envelope need a higher-class fitting.

Questions about this item
Will the galvanised coating on the 1103 elbow need reapplication over time?
The galvanised malleable iron resists corrosion in normal plumbing service; replacement is only needed if mechanical damage or heavy scaling occurs.
What pressure limit applies when the 1103 street elbow runs continuously at elevated temperature?
Class 150 rating allows 300 psi maximum operating pressure at 150 degrees F for Schedule 40 pipe systems.
Does the 1103 coupling generate noise or heat when water flows through it all day?
As a passive 90-degree NPT fitting it adds no noise or heat; flow turbulence is minimal in a properly sized Schedule 40 installation.
