Anvil 1-1/4" x 1" Galvanized Reducer

This Anvil reducing coupling connects a 1-1/4 inch female NPT pipe to a 1 inch female NPT pipe. It is made from malleable iron with a galvanized finish for corrosion resistance. The fitting is rated for Class 150 service and Schedule 40 pipe. It handles a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi at 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Replaces mismatched pipe sizes in water or air lines

Use this coupling when joining two threaded pipes of different diameters in a straight run. The jump is worth it when a system requires a secure, pressure-rated transition without welding or adapters. It is not suited for installations needing a male-threaded end, a different pressure class, or a non-galvanized material such as black iron or brass.

Questions about this item

What pipe schedule does the 1-1/4" x 1" galvanized reducer coupling accept?

The coupling is rated for Schedule 40 pipe on both the 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch female NPT ends.

How do you seal the NPT threads on this malleable iron fitting, and what step is often missed?

Apply PTFE tape or pipe dope to the male threads only, then tighten until snug; the common error is over-tightening, which can crack the Class 150 casting.
