What it is and who it fits
This pack contains three USB 3.0 male-to-male cables measuring 6.6 ft each. They extend the reach between a host computer and a USB 3.0 Type A peripheral such as a hard-drive enclosure, printer, modem or camera. The cables are plug-and-play with no driver installation required.
Capacity and headroom
Each cable supports up to 5 Gbps SuperSpeed transfer, which is 10x faster than USB 2.0. The link remains backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, so older hosts can still communicate with USB 3.0 devices at their native rate. The 6.6 ft length gives ample slack for desk or rack routing.
Practical limits of the interface
The male-to-male wiring does not support a direct connection between two computers. Compatibility is confirmed for Western Digital My Cloud and My Cloud Mirror drives that expose a Type A USB 3.0 port. Cables function as passive extensions only; they cannot bridge two host controllers.
