What this cable does

This 1 metre USB‑C 3.2 Gen 2 extension cable carries 20 Gbps data, up to 240 W Power Delivery 3.1 and 4K video at 60 Hz through a male-to-female connection. It is built for users who need to reach a monitor, external SSD or eGPU from a laptop or desktop USB‑C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode.

What to verify first

Your host USB‑C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video and Power Delivery 3.1 for the full 240 W charging rate; otherwise video or maximum power will not function. You also need a separate USB‑C 3.2 male-to-male cable to complete the link, because this product only provides the female end.

What the bundle changes

The package contains only the extension cable itself — no male-to-male cable, no power adapter and no software. You must supply a compatible USB‑C 3.2 male-to-male cable and a PD 3.1 charger rated for your device to obtain the advertised 240 W charging and 20 Gbps throughput.

Questions about this item

Does the cable come with a male-to-male USB-C 3.2 cable for the laptop connection?

No, the package contains only the 1 m male-to-female extender; a separate USB 3.2 male-to-male cable is required to reach the host or display.

Which version should I pick if my monitor needs 4K at 60 Hz and my laptop only has a Thunderbolt 3 port?

The extender is rated for 20 Gbps and supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, so it will carry 4K 60 Hz video through a Thunderbolt 3 port that offers DP Alt Mode.

What does the 240 W rating mean when I plug my 100 W charger into the extender?

The cable handles up to 50 V / 5 A and is backward compatible with PD 3.0, PD 2.0, QC 3.0 and Samsung adaptive fast charging, so a 100 W charger will deliver its full rated power through the extender.
