Switched PDU for rack power management

The APC AP7901B is a 1U rackmount power distribution unit that delivers switched outlet control for IT equipment. It accepts a 120V 20A supply through a NEMA L5-20P plug and provides eight NEMA 5-20R outlets. Network administrators can remotely cycle power on individual outlets to reboot hung servers or sequence startup order.

Outlet-level switching and sequencing

The switched architecture lets operators turn each of the eight outlets on or off independently over the network. This enables remote reboot of locked-up devices without a site visit and supports ordered power-up sequences to avoid inrush currents. The 12 ft input cord gives flexibility when connecting to a branch circuit or upstream UPS.

16 A derated continuous load limit

Although the input plug is rated for 20 A, regulatory derating restricts continuous draw to 16 A. The unit operates between 0 °C and 45 °C at up to 95 % relative humidity and up to 3000 m elevation. It carries cUL, CSA, FCC Part 15 Class A and UL 60950 certifications for compliance in commercial environments.
